I write because I have a story to tell.

This story has been entrusted to me by the more than 200 men I have interviewed about their experiences as “seagoing cowboys” following World War II. Their legacy is one of helping to repair a broken world.

My goal is to preserve and relate this little-known piece of history. I desire through my work to make the cowboys’ stories as fascinating, entertaining, and compelling to my readers as they are to me.

My current works-in-progress include a historical novel about the journey of a seagoing cowboy; a nonfiction book about the seagoing cowboys; and a related nonfiction book about the first decade of the Heifer Project, today’s Heifer International.

Through my writing I hope that I, too, can help make this world a more peaceful place.
